Have you ever heard the expression “wearing a room?” Subconsciously, you know that your style is reflected not just in your wardrobe but in your home as well. Reflect on what your home and your wardrobe say about you. Are they saying the same thing?
To design your home, you need to know who you are, how you dress, how you live and most importantly, how you dream of living. If you want to really know yourself and your style, spend some time in your closet. Your closet tells so many stories about who you really are. At first glance you see fabrics, colors, prints, solids, textures and the designers you have chosen.
You will begin to see the tones of color that are most comfortable for you and that you wear most often. What about the cut and style of your clothing? Do you gravitate to a more tailored, classic style, or do you choose pieces with the flowing fabrics of a romantic style? Your wardrobe reveals your personal style.
Accessorizing your room decor is just like accessorizing your wardrobe. Take some risks and explore the possibilities. Experiment with animal prints, bright metallic accents and bold colors.
