NashvilleScene.com announces Best of Nashville 2012

In Nashville Scene’s 23rd Best of Nashville® issue, you’ll find readers’ choices for everything from the best burger, fries and drinks in Music City to the best purveyors of plastic surgery. And as counterpoint, the Scene‘s writers have weighed in with their own takes on the city’s most fascinating finds, whether it’s the best lunchtime delicacy to be found on Nolensville Road or the best place to get your dog groomed.

With any readers’ choice list, there is room to debate the results. However, here are a few results I completely endorse:

BEST BURGER
Burger Up
The Pharmacy Burger Parlor & Beer Garden

BEST HOT CHICKEN
Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack

BEST ICE CREAM/GELATO
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams
Pied Piper Creamery
Sweet CeCe’s

BEST SUNDAY BRUNCH
Marché Artisan Foods

BEST BAR THAT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU’RE NOT IN NASHVILLE
Patterson House
No. 308

After I browsed the readers’ choice list for food & drink, I moved on to the Writers’ Choice for the same category where I found what I was looking for.

BEST NEW RESTAURANT (EAST SIDE): LOCKELAND TABLE
If the current birth rate continues, by 2015 every resident of 37206 will have a restaurant within a block’s walk. After five years building their fan base at Eastland Cafe, partners Hal Holden-Bache and Cara Graham staked a claim on the corner of 16th and Woodland in Lockeland Springs, assuming their familiar positions as chef and general manager. Bonus points for the gleaming wood topping the bar, recycled from the late Melrose Lanes. —KAY WEST

I tried Lockeland Table for the first time on Friday evening and I have a review coming your way. I would definitely agree that it is the best new restaurant!
