Country Club, by Jean-Paul Lemieux, sold at auction Monday night for $1,095,000 in Toronto, against an estimate as low as $400,000.

• A Sotheby’s Canadian art auction of painters, including works by Jean Paul Lemieux, Alex Colville and Jack Bush, brought in more than $7.8 million, against pre-sale estimates as low as $4.7 million, at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto. Read more here

• The week of Russian art sales in London saw Sotheby’s over the line as most profitable among Russian art dealer for the year. The auction house has fetched a total of $95.6 million out of four Russian art auctions held in NY and London in 2011. Read more here.
