The Tennessean recently released a slideshow of images that represent things coming to Nashville this year. I’m looking forward to the following:
The TomKats restaurant opens in March in the Pinnacle. Echo, a new venture by former Zola owner and chef Deb Paquette, will open in the Encore building on Demonbreun Street.
The Nashville Film Festival, held at the Regal Green Hills cinemas each April, has seen a record number of film entries from a record number of countries, 97. With the deadline to apply still days away, this year’s festival promises an even richer variety of movies big and small.
Cheekwood is celebrating the 10th anniversary of Treehouses, which will run from late spring through Labor Day. It features eight treehouses, visitors of all ages can climb.
Equine art will be celebrated at the 2012 Iroquois Steeplechase, with Leiper’s Fork artist Rachael McCampbell as the May event’s featured artist.
As plans are carried out to improve Sevier Park, to include additional parking spots, construction continues to be a mainstay on 12Avenue South. The intergalactic-looking Urban Grub promises to open sometime soon. The restaurant will boast Southern-style seafood, including a raw bar with oysters and Latin dishes such as enchiladas.
What do you look forward to this year in Nashville?
